It Is Well

  1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way,
    When sorrows like sea billows roll;
Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.

    • Refrain:
It is well, with my soul,
It is well, it is well, with my soul.
  2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come,
    Let this blest assurance control,
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
  3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!
My sin, not in part but the whole,
Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my soul!
  4. For me, be it Christ, be it Christ hence to live:
If Jordan above me shall roll,
No pang shall be mine, for in death as in life
Thou wilt whisper Thy peace to my soul.
  5. But, Lord, ’tis for Thee, for Thy coming we wait,
    The sky, not the grave, is our goal;
Oh, trump of the angel! Oh, voice of the Lord!
Blessed hope, blessed rest of my soul!
  6. And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,
    The clouds be rolled back as a scroll;
The trump shall resound, and the Lord shall descend,
Even so, it is well with my soul.

These words were penned by a man named Horatio Spafford in 1873. Mr. Spafford had lost all four of his daughters when the ship they sailed on went down several miles off the shore of England. It was when he sailed those same seas and passed by the location of this great tragedy that the Lord gave him the words to this favored hymn. Ask yourself if it would be well with your soul to be found in the same circumstances. Grief can draw us closer to our God or cause us to point the finger of blame. Let’s always remember that God is in control of every area of our lives. We may not like the outcome, but He is in control nonetheless.

Another impromptu visit from Bro. Petronico

At times we have an altar call before the sermon because a song speaks to our hearts. This only makes for a better opportunity for the preacher to do his job. Tonight, Michael G. sang a song called “the Voice of the Shepherd.” Ah, if only we would hear His voice always. Life would be so much easier!

Bro. Petronico kicked us in the seat of the pants yet again…just in the first few moments of his message. He reminded us of our flippancy with the Word of God. What we do with God’s word determines what God can do with us. We don’t read it and we certainly don’t study it!

Brother P. talked of Paul and his visits to the synagogue. He was accustomed to this. It was just what he did! Ina cts 17:1-4 we found that there were some who believed and in verse 5, some who believed NOT.

Paul was a preacher. a picture of thepreacher of today.

The Synagogue is a picture of the church….Some believe, others do not.

Most of us think we are okay but we are not as great as we think we are.  We often look at what we used to be rather than looking ahead to what we should be striving to be. We compare ourselves to others who aren’t as ‘spiritual.’ Look in the Book! You will find that you aren’t so great! Look to God.

In Rev. 3:13 we see the Laodicean church! That is American Christianity. We are rich and don’t know it. If you have $1 dollar to your name, you have more than 92% of the population of this earth. We have so much that we daily tell the Lord that we don’t have need of him. We don’t ask for bread. We just expect it to be there. No need for God. We don’t ask for help. We just do it on our own. We are self sufficient. We don’t ask for protection, good health, etc, but blame God when we don’t have these things.

Could any of us testify that we are living the abundant Christian life? NO! Why? Because we are all in bondage to something. Each of us struggles in one area or another. So, what do we do? We all have a choice to make. No one can MAKE you believe but you get out of life what you put in!

In Acts 17:10 we find those who were noble because they received the Word with readiness of mind! Not because they had stuff and drove nice cars or dressed the right way.  Study the book! You will be tested!

Our answer to the problem?

1. Repent – turn away from the things that plague you

2. Replace – get the worldliness out and the Godliness in

3. Rekindle – Get back that first love. Remember when you got saved and how excited you were. Start over.

We can never take back the sins we have committed but we can turn from them and the blood of Christ will wash them whiter than snow.

Believe determines behavior.

Sunday morning July 24

Though getting to church on time can sometimes be a struggle, I have to say that pushing through the opposition to get there is definitely worth it. The Lord always shows up at Gospel Light. It was a beautiful Summery Sunday morning and though people could have been anywhere else, there were 142 in attendance, praise the Lord!

Pastor started out with talking about God’s word, and how awesome it is that the God of this universe is inviting you to read His DIARY! Now that is just awesome! Daily Bible reading is not only important but essential for us as Christians. Nobody will ever master or crack the code of the Bible, but there are seals that can be broken and wisdom that can be gained from it.

Right now we are in a very scary time in our country. People in power in many different levels of politics are using the law to deceive our nation. We need to be aware of some of the things that are going on, but more importantly, we need to be focused on God’s work. Pastor Giardino very adamantly stated, “The only hope for this country is the gospel, and for the pulpits to be on fire!” I couldn’t agree more. It is definitely time for us to get serious about standing for truth before it is too late. Pastor also made it clear how important it is for the church of Gospel Light to be there when the doors are open, to hear from the Lord.

There has been such amazing fruit at Gospel Light lately as a result of both John Waterstraw, and Jeff Brongo’s  funerals. Though it is difficult to see loved ones and close friends die, it is very reassuring knowing that they are in heaven. It is also such a blessing that Pastor was able to have liberty to preach to so many. I am praying for more opportunities to be opened up for our Pastor to give a clear gospel message so that many more can be saved. It is clear that God is moving at and through the church of Gospel Light. I know I sure want to be where God is moving as much as I possibly can!

The intro to today’s sermon was so applicable to most of us and maybe even all of us in the church today. A lady went and asked two different men for a hammer (one of them had one) she went to her car with the hammer and smashed in the window. She held up her keys and smiled (happy that she got in). The one guy said to the other guy, I wish she would have told me what she needed it for, I am a locksmith. Isn’t that so true in many of our lives. We need something, some sort of help, whether it be direction, instruction, a shoulder to cry on, food, shelter, a ride to church; you name it! We all need some sort of help at one time or another. The problem is that many times we just try to do everything on our own and don’t seek guidance from the Lord in His Word, reach out to other brothers and sisters, or come to the church.

We have access to kingdom in so many different ways. Pastor outlined how we have access through Christ, the Spirit, and by faith.

Pastor asked an interesting question early on. How did Paul shake the world? He answered it later, saying that while Paul lived hell had no peace. Paul’s name was even mentioned by an evil spirit in Acts 19:15. Pastor asked a very pointed question to all of us, “When was the last name your name was mentioned by an evil spirit?” Are the people of Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church causing hell to have no peace?

Paul was persuaded! (Rom 8:37) Living for Christ was everything to him. Is it everything to you? Everything else should be in second place. Be persuaded that this is the truth and that nothing can separate us from the love of God. The love of Christ should persuade us to tall others the gospel message.

Not only was it a beautiful day with a powerful word from the Lord delivered by our Pastor, but we also had 2 people come forward for baptism, praise the Lord!

Sunday evening July 17

We turned to Jeremiah 29:11-13 this evening.

11For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

12Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you.

13And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.

God has a plan for His people. At this time, Israel were all in captivity but God tells them that if they are willing to do some searching, they can find Him. Israel is a picture of today’s church. God thinks of us! He bought and paid for us with the blood of His son.

1 Peter 1:15

We are instructed to be HOLY!

Leviticus 20:7 Sanctified

David  says “Search Me” in Ps 139

God doesn’t need a warrant to search our hearts. Interestingly enough, we often feel that we are doing okay, but in reality, there are tings deep within that we may not understand ourselves. This blogger is reminded of a conversation I had years ago with a fairly young Christian. It went like this:

Other person: Hi there. How are you?

Me: I’m good thanks. How are you doing?

Other person: Great! I’ve been keeping track and  I haven’t sinned in nine days! I’m so excited!

Well, I didn’t burst this persons bubble, but the fact is that even if there had been nothing before, pride was standing there now! Oh how frustrating it is at times! We try and try and yet can never arrive!

Holiness is something that we may seek in our lives but attaining it is always just out of our grasp.

How great are thy works! We do not have the mind of God and can not understand Him but if we love Him, we should be in His control. The world should not control us. Others should not control our minds.

1 Cor 2:9 But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.

Mat 12:24-25. Jesus could read the thoughts of those he was with. He can read your thoughts! Do you want Him to know?

Be Holy. Live Holy.

Sunday morning July 17, 2011

Our opening special this morning gave us a new singing group of Mrs. G and her two youngest daughters. This morning they sang, “I Am Going Home to Heaven” a song about just that! Something we all look forward to! Are you going with us?

After some rousing hymns, Michael G. was on the special list with a medley of “His Eye is on the Sparrow, and Oh, How Much He cares for Me.” For some, the piece brought tears of thankful celebration.

Pastor Giardino came to the pulpit with part 2 of the message “Keys to the Kingdom.”

We started out in Romans 5: 1-2 which speaks of our access to the grace of God, then turned to Matt. 16:19 where the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven are mentioned.

Pastor recounted the record breaking success of the latest Harry Potter movie and how Americans are infatuated with evil and witchcraft. Caught up with the escapism of the world. This includes christian kids! Parents don’t have the sense to stop it!

Ex. 7:10 – Pastor made mention here of the enchantments used by the magicians of Moses time. God’s rod was able to swallow up that of the magicians then and would be able to do so today.

Let’s get on to the keys:

1 Key of the Law

2 Key of the Gospel

3 Key of Knowledge

4 Key to the Bottomless pit

Rev. 1:16-18   Jesus has the keys. He conquered death

Prov 15:11 Hell and destruction are before the LORD: how much more then the hearts of the children of men?

He has access to death and hell. We should all fear that kind of power.

Because all of humanity is in default, He is the only one who can open hearts. All are wicked before a Holy God. The only answer is the blood of Christ.

God opened hearts to be used

God opened eyes

God opens and closes wombs

God opens the eyes of a king

1 cor 5:19 tells us that Christ alone reconciles us to Himself.

God didn’t have to do that.

Stay tuned for part 3!

Sunday evening July 10

“Just a Thought” series on the mind.

When we come to church on Sunday evening, we know that the family is together. It is always a blessed time of fellowship and worship. Tonight, Mike Walters brought us a beautiful a capella solo of “Daystar.”

Pastor opened his sermon this evening with the story of the Hall brothers who eventually became the founders of the Hallmark greeting card company.  The main point being that they coined the phrase:

“When you care enough to send the very best.”

Our message tonight is that God has given His very best.

He gave us the King James Bible. Preserved and inspired.

He gave us his Son, Jesus Christ.

He gave us a comforter. The Holy Spirit.

How do we know we have his best

  • He pursues us, desiring for us to be saved.

Is. 45:22-25- Look unto me, and be ye saved, all the ends of the earth: for I am God, and there is none else.

Phil 2:10, Deut 33:27 , Jeremiah 31:

  • He proves Himself

Is 45:5-11 I am the LORD, and there is none else, there is no God beside me: I girded thee, though thou hast not known me:

That they may know from the rising of the sun, and from the west, that there is none beside me. I am the LORD, and there is none else.

God can handle any burden. Give Him your best shot!

  • He provides for us

Ps 147:1-20 Read it! Nothing is left out! He did it all.

Purple mountain majesty…Who is responsible for all that grain and goodness?

What’s more important is this…He provided a ransom for many.

God provided the best!

Sunday Morning – Keys

We were blessed with a wonderful summer day. Birds were singing, the sun shone brightly, and the sky was a lovely shade of blue.

While inside the church, visitors and members alike were being treated to a song called, ” I have been blessed!” sung by the youth choir and some adults. Across the auditorium, shouts of praises, hands were raised in the air, amens exploded like firecrackers, as people testified to the blessings of God. It would behoove us, one and all to remember the blessings of God, through the good times as well as the bad ones.
Oh, I have been blessed, God’s so good to me.
Precious are His thoughts of you and me
No way I could count them, there’s not enough time
So I”ll just thank Him for being so kind.
God has been good, so good. I have been blessed.
After the song finished, Pastor Giardino hit the ground running. We were asked to turn in our bibles to Matthew 16:19. Today’s sermon dealt with 4 keys. As is customary, Pastor Giardino began his sermon by illustration. He took a big ring of keys, (4) to be exact, and placed them around his neck. They were huge keys, representing the keys to the kingdom of heaven. The bible talks about some keys. What do we do with the keys that God trusts us with, will determine our rewards in heaven.
Let’s begin in Luke 11: 52
1)  The key of Knowledge –  Jesus Christ wanted everyone to be able to have access to the bible and the ability to read it at will. There are plenty of churches doing church the wrong      way. Chump Churches, Punk Pastors and Scum Scriptures. The modern versions totally corrupt God’s word and make it ineffective. As the bible says, ” Woe unto you lawyers.”
Matthew 23:2, Mark 2:17
2)  Keys of the Kingdom –  Luke 1:32-33, Matthew 16:15, Pastor asked the congregation to put on our thinking caps.. Jesus is the rock. The church is built on Jesus Christ and not a man, Isaiah 58:6. Religion will enslave you, only Jesus Christ can free you.
3) Key of David (key of promise) Isaiah 22:22Future kingdom of Jesus as promised through the line of David. Isaiah 9:6, ” For unto you is born…” Don’t you want to get to know that person? Revelation 3:7 parallels Isaiah 9:6. Christ opens doors for us, to be servants as well.

4) The key to the bottomless pit – Revelation 20:1
Christ has full access. Jesus’ love is there. Jesus keeps us from temptation, if we let him. We as Christians may sometimes feel as though we are going against the flow. Do we realize just how quickly the Lord can come back? Hold on tight christian, times are getting rough and sinful.
Pastor Giardino reminds us all that these are exciting times to be a christian. We can be over comers in these last days. Revelation 3:12. These are promises to a child of God. We know that Jesus Christ is no longer meek and lowly. There have been times of old, when in the name Of God, Christians have been killed by people who think they are doing God a favor.
Even so Lord Jesus, come quickly!

Very sobering points that were taught by our preacher. He appealed to our hearts. If the Holy Spirit is speaking to you, come forward and get saved. We were served a fine meal. It is up to us what we will do with it. The invitation closed and our church was blessed to welcome a new family into our flock. Praise the Lord.

Secular Humanism – Peter Bard

In our Wednesday evening classes, we have been examining the cults that are pre-eminent in our culture today. One might say there aren’t many, but this is not the truth as we have seen throughout the year. Some of the topics we have heard about include Mormonism, Jehovah Witnesses, The Charismatic movement, Calvinism, Catholicism, Scientology and the latest study on Secular Humanism.

“What?” you say.  “Secular humanism isn’t a cult. It’s just a way of thinking.”

Well, that way of thinking is sending people into Godless oblivion! A place of torment, called Hell.

A humanist hates God. A humanist doesn’t want to have to give God credit for anything. He will hate the Word of God. He will hate the mention of God. He will stop prayer in schools and omit “under God” from the Pledge of Allegiance. He will tell your children that there was a big bang that started everything on the earth. He will do whatever it takes to make sure that our country looks only to man and science for answers.

Where does it start? We would look to Genesis 1:1-3 for the beginning. “In the beginning, God created…”

A Humanist will go back “billions of years” to a non-existent time when everything came from nothing. HA!

We first looked at a video that tells us “What Darwin Didn’t Know”. He didn’t have the technology to look into a single cell and see that it is a fantastic machine, made of parts that could only have been put together by the mind of a creator.

(If you are interested in seeing this, you can find it on Youtube. This blogger decided not to post it because of the comments following. Sadly, there are those who want to sound intelligent, but can’t express a thought without being vulgar.)

Daniel 1:3-4 The young men that were taken captive were able to understand science. Darwin didn’t have anything on these guys.

The truth is, as Peter brought out, that the earth could never survive billions of years. The deterioration of the earth cannot be explained by a humanist because it should have been gone by now.

Humanism has brought us men like John Dewey, who signed the First Declaration of the Humanist Manifesto in 1933,  who said, “Public schools must become exclusively humanist and we must remove the religious superstition from students.”

Revive us Again

Written by William Paton Mackay (1839-1885), medical doctor turned minister.

Dr. Mackay believed wholeheartedly that the Word of God means what it says.

Creed, or the belief in a certain amount of doctrine, has made Christendom, but never made a Christian.

Ye must be born again.”

We praise Thee, O God!
For the Son of Thy love,
For Jesus Who died,
And is now gone above.

Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Hallelujah! Amen.
Hallelujah! Thine the glory.
Revive us again.

We praise Thee, O God!
For Thy Spirit of light,
Who hath shown us our Savior,
And scattered our night.

All glory and praise
To the Lamb that was slain,
Who hath borne all our sins,
And hath cleansed every stain.

All glory and praise
To the God of all grace,
Who hast brought us, and sought us,
And guided our ways.

Revive us again;
Fill each heart with Thy love;
May each soul be rekindled
With fire from above.

Happy 4th!

Sunday Evening – Anthony Petronico

Occasionally we have an opportunity to find out that God really does know what we need, when we don’t know ourselves. He’s that kind of God. He sends someone our way,  just when we were least expecting it. This Sunday evening was one of those times.

We always begin a service with hearty hymn singing and generally by the end of a song service, you can feel that there are people who WANT to be there, and love to worship our great God.

Special music was played and sung by Michael G.  He sang a song called “Sanctuary” and before he was finished, the preacher got up and told us that Mike was singing his sermon. People were already at the altar and hearts were being stirred.

When Brother Anthony Petronico came to the pulpit to preach, he asked us to go to Luke 5:12.  We started out with the leper. Leprosy is a picture of sin. We all have it!

In verse 13 we found that when Jesus touched him, the leprosy IMMEDIATELY left him.

If we look at four people we see a pattern.

Peter – Good man, but still had to believe

Leper – Cleansed by believing, Saved

Lame man – pictures a walk with God

Levite – Follower of God.

Someone can believe without being saved… but…

You cannot be a follower without first walking with Christ

Cannot walk with Christ without being saved and

you can’t be saved without believing.

The White House is not to blame for the ills of America.

The blame belongs to the Church House.

Christians are saved but not all are walking with or even followers of Christ.

America stopped praying!

Matt. 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. Matt 21:22 – All things John 14:13  – Whatsoever

God does answer prayer.

When is the last time you had specific answers?

Why doesn’t God answer your prayers.

1. He doesn’t have to Isaiah 55:8 (my ways not your ways)

2. He knows our hearts  James 4:2, 1 Cor 10:1 ( we have the wrong associations)

3. He doesn’t hear our prayers. Psalm 66:18
If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me:

a. Be clean  1 John 1:9, Is 59:1, ps 139:23

b. resist the devil   James 4:7

No, we didn’t know this preacher would be in town this week, but God did and He sent him our way on purpose.

Sunday Morning “Blown Away”

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me.
Tired of hearing "God Bless America", Woodie Guthrie
penned the words to this popular folk song.
It continues with several verses and ends like this...
In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.
In Pastor's sermon we heard the question...
Is this land still made for you and me?
Hebrews 11:10 For he looked for a city which hath foundations,
whose builder and maker is God.
Revelation 21:1-3
This is the land that was made for you and me.
A land where things will be holy and true is where we will be.
We should each, as Christians, have a desire to be in the church,
to be in the Word and to be in prayer.
This morning's sermon was a reminder of the decline
of our great country.
The wind's of change are a judgment on:
1. Society
2. Saints
3. Sinners
Don't be blown away by the coming judgment.

Sunday July 3, 2011 Adult Sunday School

We were blessed to have Evangelist Tony Petronico in our class this past Sunday morning.

He came to us to teach the adult class but preached to us as well.

In a nutshell, here is what we heard.

2 Timothy 3:15-17

15And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

17That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.

There is a judgment at the end of it all.

2 Tim 4:5 tells us to endure affliction…to do the work of an evengelist.

What is an evangelist?

A preacher or publisher of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Are you doing your job? This is required of us all.

Belief determines behavior. How much do you believe?

Are you a salesman?

Use your sales talent and gifts to win souls! God is our witness. He knows what you’re doing for His Glory.

Thank you, Bro. Petronico.

Dr. Bob Brado – Sunday PM June 25

Our Sunday evening service was chocked full of activity and merriment. We sang hymns of the faith, Pastor Giardino gave us a recap of that morning’s events.

We rejoiced again at the mention of four people joining Gospel Light! Praise the Lord for those who visit and find a home here. An intro of newlyweds Lex and Nicole Vazquez, married just the day before! Congratulations!

Each month in 2011 we have honored one person who has been a special help to the ministry. Bro.mateo presented the next servant’s award to Darryl stevens, who was hoping the award wasn’t for him, surprise, it was!

The pace picked up with a catchy and funny dvd taken Saturday afternoon of the King’s Kids Hobo Day at GLBBC. The congregation bubbled with laughter and applause. Then it was time for awards.Up first were Mr. and Mrs Derefinko, leaders of the King’s Kids Class. With a group, whose ages range from 4 years old to 11.Awards were given to boys and girls alike. There was a 34 scripture memorization requirement of the class and every child in the class receieved an award. Mrs. D. made special mention of 4 children who stood apart for special reasons. Emalie Bard was 4 when she joined the class and she memorized 30 out of 34 verses. Lydia Derefinko, Ethan Crane and Lydia Giardino, each memorized 34 verses out of 34. Praise the Lord!

The next awards were presented By Melodie Crane, her helpers are Jesenia Curley and Emmy Clavijo. These ladies head up the King’s Daughters’, girls, ages 12-17. The young ladies quoted verses and received pins for accomplishments, such as, weaving, photography, candy-making,and soulwinning, to say the least. Our Keepers for young men is headed up by Grayson Krol, assisted by Luke Curley. The men, not to be undone, quoted verses, they even showed off their handy work, homemade tool boxes! This age group is 12-17.

After a hearty round of applause and shouts of praise, Pastor Giardino, with glowing accolades, introduced our guest speaker Dr. Bob Brado, his friend of many years. Dr. Brado. in turn introduced his lovely wife, Amy, to the congregation.  After praying and inviting the Lord to be in the midst of the service, Brother Brado got busy laying the groundwork for his sermon.

” What should we experience in the House of the Lord?”

Pastor Brado’s text verses were taken from Psalms 122:1-9.

Point 1) gladness- he reminded us that we should be happy that we get to go to church, no matter what happens from the time we wake up in the morning to the time we step foot in the front door of our church, we should have a positive attitude when we arrive. Pastor Brado asked each person to reflect on, ” What makes you Happy?” It is good to praise God together.

Point 2)Standing on a firm foundation. Our feet shall stand. We ought to have a firm foundation. Far too many Christians may be  afraid to meet the Lord face to face. Pastor Brado reminded us that we need not to be intimidated by the laws of the land. 1st Cor.3:11. As we all know, Gospel Light isn’t founded on sinking sand, glory to God!

Point 3) verse 4, giving thanks to the Lord. We turned in our bibles to Psalm 100:1a, Make a joyful noise unto the lord… There was more than one head which nodded in agreement, shouts of praise and acknowledgement. God is still on the throne. our thanks should go to God first. Romans 1:21 because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.” Welcome to the real world, as we were so glaringly were reminded of, just last week. Oh, if we could get this one truth. We need to be thankful for what we have, what God has blessed us with. We need to cultivate a spirit of gratitude in our children, so they can grow up and be thankful to God! We need to be thankful for our spouses, if not, we can begin to drift.

Point 4) Judgment-For the time has come, that judgment must begin in the house of God. As we know, a person needs to be brought low to be raised up again. Sin is not private, it affects everyone. For instance, take a smoker who huffs and puffs and when the smoker exhales, that smoke goes everywhere, it doesn’t just stay around the smoker. That is the way sin is. Believe me, I don’t want your second hand smoke, listen, We don’t want people to fail. We can’t be silent. Back in Billy Sunday’s day, he preached long and hard against alcohol. Some years later the law of prohibition was repealed.

Point 5) Prayer, we need to be in a constant state of prayer. We need to pray for the peace of Jerusalem. Jesus said, my house shall be called a house of prayer. You know a lot churches have become entertainment halls. Prayer has become neglected, both corporately and individually. Experience prayer in the house of God. Did you know prayer brings peace and prosperity? Prayer is close communication to God. Pastor Brado reminds us that morals were much better when he was growing up. Even though we tried to work our way to heaven. Nowadays, we know that isn’t the right way. It is getting to a point where we can’t display the 10 commandments. Wake up Christians, this is the world we are living in. Praise the Lord, God is still on the throne. After the invitation, we bowed our heads together, in prayer and were dismissed.

Sunday June 25, 2011 Morning Service

After a hearty round of congregational singing and a few announcements, we heard “Nothing Between” sung by the duet of Grayson (on guitar) and Michael (singing harmony.)

Then it was pastor to the pulpit for more on “Deep Six.”
He joined us this morning wearing sackcloth over his clothes, (Johan 3:1-6) to represent the mournful state of our country, especially the state of NY after the weekend’s abominable turn of events in voting “yes” for Same Sex Marriage. After referencing the political “outlaws” that rule the land and go against the Bible, we opened with Romans 8:35-39 which tells us that none of these will separate us fromt he love of Christ.
