Evidence of His Creation

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.  Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.  There is no speech nor language, wheretheir voice is not heard. Psalms 19:1-3
Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse.  Romans 1:19-20

“Bring A Friend Day” – Sunday Morning Service 03/25/2012

Pastor Giardino spoke about “friendship” on a day called “Bring A Friend Day”. He first opened up with a quote from L.B. Johnson who was asked why do we support Israel when they are so out numbered? He responded with,”Because it is right.”

Today our support and friendship with Israel is questionable which may reverse how God has blessed our nation. John Adams is quoted as saying, “I will insist that the Hebrews have done more to civilize man more than any other nation” The Jewish faith was predominantly a faith of liberty.

Jesus asked what do we have over any other if we love only those who love us in return. “Love your enemies” Mat:5:43-48 Pastor brought out how even Judas Iscariat, who betrayed Him, was called “friend”, by Jesus. Mat: 26:47-50

Isn’t it interesting that Jesus went in to eat with sinners rather than those who have no need of healing? It was clearly claimed by the onlookers that Jesus ate and drank with publicans and sinners. He was a friend to them. Mat. 9:11-13 Pastor challenged us as to who we give our friendship to. Do we just hang out with those that agree with us?

Our support should constantly be for those who support us, even Israel, since the promise is through them. Secondly, there should be a reaching out to those who are in need, spiritually. The poor in in spirit. This is truly what makes us shine in this world of perverseness. Phil.2:12-15

House to House Ministry

House to House Lessons
taught by
Steve D & Gabriel G
written by Darryl M.

I recently attended the H2H class given at Gospel Light March 26th taught by Steve and Gabriel. There were Eight participants who benefited at this class, nice job men! I recommend that if you plan to knock on doors this year that you get your hands on the notes or better yet ask Steve and Gabriel for another opportunity in a classroom setting. It was a rich experience being it prepares you for things to come while knocking on strangers doors.

I was especially encouraged by such a small number of participants taking in account that our church is a bible believing church and many members already are prepared for door knocking; as our church is obedient to the scriptures IE: Matt 28:19&20 where we are commanded by Jesus to go out and spread the Gospel throughout the world!

There are three opportunities for door knocking this year. Tuesday evenings, Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons, plus there will be special days set aside for Rochester events. These events will mostly be Saturday mornings and will be announced well in advance. I’ll be looking forward to seeing many of us out there ‘saving souls’ for Jesus and fulfilling our Christian duty by being obedient to Jesus. Amen

Why People Don’t Witness to Others

Why People Don’t Witness to Others

by Bill Brinkworth of www.OpenThouMineEyes.com

I have heard most of the excuses not to win others to Christ. Honestly, I have experienced most of these excuses myself and have heard the same excuses from many of the most-used-of-God soul-winners I have encountered. None of the reasons for not obeying God’s command to win souls to Christ are biblical. Here are some of the most common reasons many give for not winning a lost soul from their eternal destiny of hell to eternal life in heaven:

  • “I’m too shy.” All feel like this at one time or other, but should not obedience to God’s commandments supersede our pride and selfish feelings? Is not a soul’s eternal destination more important that our feelings of self-consciousness?
  • “I don’t feel like it.” Laziness to do the right thing is another non-biblical reason many hide behind.
  • “I didn’t know a Christian was supposed to tell others.” Too many do not read for themselves the Word of God, so they do not know what they are commanded to do. Unfortunately, many preachers who do not want to offend their members also do not make their flock aware of what they are expected to do.
  • “I’m afraid of what others may say or think.” It is a shame that a person that we may never see again may not have the blessing to hear the salvation message from our lips because of our fear. Jesus was not afraid to show others the true way to heaven even though He knew it would cost Him his earthly life; nor were the Apostles; nor the many that gave their lives so that others could hear it; nor were the many that attempted to tell us.
  • “I don’t know what to say.” Most people do not know how to tell others how to be saved when they first are saved themselves. Tell them how you got saved; then begin to memorize different scripture on salvation. God always convicts others through the use of His Word. Hide scripture in your heart; so that when the Holy Spirit uses you to witness to another, you have it there ready to win a soul to Him.

I would like to publicly thank all those wonderful people who have been praying for me about the pain I experience shooting down my right leg. Through this church I benefited by prayer from the Saints at GLBBC a high level of comfort in the leg region.

I would especially like to thank Valerie Goodhew for taking pity on me and inviting me to her home, taking time to pick me up and introducing me to Alan who worked on me by way of homeopathic medicine philosophy and in 15 minutes made it so that I was totally pain free for two to three days! At present I am 70% better as far as pain goes.

Thursday I had an appointment with the primary doctor and basically told her that her medication was not working and I stopped taking it. I also told her of this homeopathic treatment and she responded with she also goes to massage treatments herself and believes wholly in the benefits through massage. Unfortunately insurance companies do not recognize massage therapy as a legitimate practice.

A while back I blogged about the power of prayer. That blog was a true story that happened in California. This story is also true only I am the recipient. I owe all this to you, the congregation from Gospel Light. You are all graceful, wonderful feeling people who think more of others than you do for yourselves. What true to the heart Christians are supposed to act because Jesus is in your hearts and you let Him work through you. Bless you all, every one of you deserve to be acknowledged by name but there isn’t enough room on the internet for that!

Other Names for the Bible

Penny Pulpit: Laodicean Last of the Last Days

Laodicean Last of the Last DaysWhat The Bible Says

Good Samaritan’s Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

For the 20th century preacher of the Gospel the most notable message of the seven recorded in the Revelation of Jesus Christ is the one which depicts the apostate Church as neither cold nor hot and spewed out of the mouth of the Lord Jesus Christ. The turn of the century found the Bible revising Protestant Church invaded by liberalism and modernism and belching out cultic leaders like Joseph Smith, Charles Taze Russle, Mary Baker Glocer Eddy, and Ellen White. The message to the Laodicean Church is altogether applicable to this era in the last of the last days. Denominational Churches say, “I am rich and increased with goods, and have need of nothing.” The Neo-Evangelical Mega Churches of the 21st century do not know that they are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. Jesus, the addressee of this seventy message is addressing as “The Amen” because He is indeed the final authority, the Verily Verily, and the End; “The faithful and true witness” because unrevised, uninternationalized Scripture is still the inerrant, infallible, verbally inspired Word of God, completely preserved in the English Language in only the King James Bible; and “The beginning of the creation of God” because it was Jesus the Christ who created all things that where created, and they were created by Him in 6 days like he said, else he is a deceiver and fake. The Laodicean Church failed to hold Him as the final Amen, the replaced the True Witness with revised standards, and international versions, and teach their children Darwinian Evolution instead of the Six Day Creation, echoed in a seven day week. America stands ready for judgment because its Churches are primed to be spewed out of Christ’s mouth. Come out and be ye separate!

An Essay for week # 9, Sunday, February 26, 2012

Good Samaritan Baptist Church, Dresden NY

Sunday 03/11/2012 Morning Service

Pastor Vince Giardino wanted to give to us something he was impressed with. The phrase “Little Children”.
He opened with 1Jn 2:1-2. How Apostle John called the believers “Little Children”.
“Little Children” is mentioned 9 times in the book of 1John. Paul used the same term of relationship when speaking to the Galatians in Gal.4:19. Pastor used the term “Book Ends” to illustrate (1st) “Born Again”, (2nd) “Till Christ be formed in you.” It is important that we see ourselves as little children growing into Christ.
It is important enough that Jesus said, (Mat.18:3), that unless one convert and become as little children there is no other means by which to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Also, Mat.19:14, The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to the Little Children.
What a beautiful message of how we are Born Again, as little children, spiritually, and to keep that recognition of what we are in God’s eyes, through Christ.
Pastor brought up how in 1John alone, the word “Love” is mentioned 40 times. To love God and the brethren and to grow in that love because God made a way for relationship through Jesus, who by taking it all upon Himself, has removed all wrath and all guilt. No other is “The Way”; “Love” being the fruit of that relationship.

Brother Vince Massa at Gospel Light Bible Baptist Church

Pastor Giardino took notes during the March 4th Sunday night message that Brother Vince Massa preached to Gospel Light. Here are some of the major points.

  • In order to serve the Lord, you must submit yourselves to Him!
  • We must worship God! God is seeking individuals to worship Him!
  • God wants worship. “If your not saved here tonight, you may become a worshiper of the anti-Christ.”
  • For the most part, the great sin of our churches is “self” sitting on the throne.
  • The book of Matthew was used to learn some things of Jesus Christ.

Worship requires submission and an acknowledgment of the Lord in His person! His person is this:

1. His Rule and His Deity:

  • If your going to learn how to worship you’d had better learn how to give!
  • The disciples realized the Lord’s deity through the calming of the storm! When you recognize who He is, then you’ll have to worship Him and submit to Him!
  • We know that Jesus is God. Do you realize this is God in the flesh?
  • If He is God in the flesh, then I must worship! We have eternal life because He is the son of God. We have a witness in ourselves. The Holy Ghost tells us.

2. His Word:

  • Are you willing to submit to what God is saying to you through His Word, or do you make excuse for yourself?
  • Use this prayer: “In me dwells no good thing. Cleanse thou me in my mind and in my spirit. Help me to worship thee, what thou sayest I will do!”
  • Pray this also: “Lord I don’t have the sense to run my life! I’m not wise enough, smart enough, to run this life.”
  • We need to submit and hand over the reigns of our lives to God.

Pastor Vince Massa Preaches at GLBBC, March 4th, 2012

Sunday 3/4/12: It was good to hear from Pastor Vince Massa this Sunday morning. He would come down and walk amongst us and touch and look as he spoke to us. From time to time you will hear him slam his hand on the pulpit.

He opened up with Acts 26:1-28. What does it mean to be a Christian, according to the Bible? This portion of Acts is about Paul the Apostle, who’s life has been in itself an open book, a man who was saved by the grace of God. It may be difficult to see why Pastor Massa used this scripture as a means to help us to know: “How to be a Christian” and “What is a Christian”.

  1. To be born again. To trust and to know forgiveness. To trust Christ and to trust Christ alone. It is the only way God, the Holy Spirit, works through.
  2. To act in obedience toward repentance. Repentance means to change your mind. Act 26:20 “To turn”. “Works that meet (are right) for repentance”.
  3. To KNOW you have been born again.
  4. To grow in grace. “To love what I hated and to hate what I loved” The world and all it offers as opposed to Christ. (Luke 2:52) Increased.
  5. To surrender to God’s will.
  6. To live in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  7. To live a life that gives glory to God.

Pastor’s Recap of the Men’s Prayer Breakfast

Dear Brethren,

The 100 men that attended this morning’s Men’s Prayer Breakfast at Gospel Light experienced the unity of the faith (Eph 4:13)!

15 pastors, evangelists, missionaries received a $25.00 gas card to take the sting out of “taking a ride” to this event. We also gave out $5 gifts cards to those that texted me that were coming… ‘easy money’ …in a economical down-turn-time! Pastor Joe Perticone (Trinity Baptist Church) brought his men in the middle of their Mission’s Conference this morning along with his guest preacher Evangelist Ronnie Morrison (All Point Baptist Mission)…. that’s the spirit Pastor Joe Perticone!

Bro. Mateo Vasquez led us men in spirited hymns and the special music from the Gospel Light men’s group (plus Evangelist Tony Saxton) and Pastor Steve Baer and his sons, Jason & David (Calvary Bible Baptist Church) got the men settled in for the sermon.

Pastor Vince Massa sermon out of Exodus was a hit….out of the park….WOW! A full altar and a “valley of decision” for many of us. The Lord will indeed get some mileage out of this one.

As announced we took an offering for Pastor Mike Stout (Grace Baptist Church, Groton). Pastor Scott Strobel (First Bible Baptist Church, Lockport), and Pastor Nate Gipp (Emmanuel Baptist Bible Church) prayed for several needs as we finished up today’s Men’s Prayer Breakfast.

The spirit of unity amongst many churches was so edifying and encouraging. There is no reason why our region won’t experience some impact from this gathering.

It has been my prayer and heartfelt love of men gathering without pretense to see the Lord speak, us to listen and IGNITE us to IMPACT our families and churches. Once again I’m humbled and honored to have anyone come and partake!

Here’s a sampling of responses from my e-mail I sent out last Saturday:

  • Pastor Dickson Beam (Grace Baptist Church, Medina) writes in a text message: Hey Brother-ur email about YA (Youth Ablaze) was GREAT. I am believing God 4 a great break thru in the breakthru department!
  • Bro. Mark Luce, Youth pastor (Walker Bible Baptist Church, Walker): Well said Preacher!!!! “Charity…rejoiceth in the truth”, RIGHT???? Plan on joining “ye all” on Sat……Appreciate you!!!! GLORY to GOD!!!
  • Evangelist Bill Matthews (Rock of Ages Prison Ministries): AMEN & AMEN!!! I couldn’t have said it better myself. Unfortunately some don’t come because THEY aren’t in control of such events.

Regarding today’s Men’s Prayer Breakfast… this could be the very thing to keep a saved man going for the Lord! Philemon 1:20 “Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.”

A lover of good men, Bro. Vince Giardino

Penny Pulpit

Three Generations For Christ – Rices

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan’s Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

In 1958 a Baptist Preacher named Cecil Palm worked his way door to door through the streets of Gang Mills, NY until he stopped at 40 Plat Street. Doris Romiano Rice was there sitting on the front step with 4 little ones and answered the Baptist Preacher’s question with a memorized line “No thank you I am Catholic.” But Levi called out from under the car in the driveway, “I would like to help start a Baptist Church in town.” That year the Rices sat on folding chairs in a garage on Bear Town Road and listened to Pastor Cecil Palm preach the saving Gospel of Jesus Christ. Jesus said “Except ye be converted … ye shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven.” Levi was converted from agnosticism, Doris from Roman Catholicism, and everything in our little home on Plat Street changed overnight when Jesus paid in full the sin debt of my mom and dad. “If any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.” I remember my dad and his Christian friend, Monty Bills, dumping all the booze in the house down the kitchen sink, the carton of cigarettes thrown out the car window and I remember forgetting our babysitter because dad and mom were home and not bar-hopping all week. Every time the Church doors were open Levi and Doris had all the Rices present to sing and hear Scripture from that new black book now clutched by each of their children. Merriam Clark taught the junior boys Sunday School class about the Lord Jesus, Abraham, Moses and Elijah as if he knew them personally. Within 2 years, at the age of 8, I became a born again Bible believing Christian.
