Security of Knowing

During Rey Caletz’s Sunday school session (5-9-10), Rey read twenty-two references in the bible that deal with the “Security of Knowing.” These are verses that provide reassurance for a Christian man or woman that their salvation is secure. We discussed many of the verses in class. For those who may be interested, the following verses should provide a good sampling of what we studied.

These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5:13

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. John 10:28

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ: Phil 1:6

All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. John 6:37-39

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory. Eph 1:13-14

Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. Heb 9:12

The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD: and he delighteth in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: for the LORD upholdeth him with his hand. Psalms 37:23-24

For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off. Psalms 37:28

That’s a great Bible Study and uses many verses that are not conventionally used when dealing with the subject of eternal security. That was edifying to me and I could only wish there were two of me so I could attend both Sunday School classes!
