This Week’s Odds and Ends

Wednesday evening’s service had Pastor Giardino preaching and teaching on “soul winning”. In John 1, He showed how John the Baptist was deflecting attention away from himself and toward Jesus. John was revealing that Jesus was the Son of God, the Messiah. Pastor gave a profile of Andrew and what made him a soul winner. Andrew, a follower of John the Baptist, was influenced by John to follow Jesus instead. The disciples were being drawn away from John the Baptist. The meaning of Messiah was also discussed.

Pastor Giardino quoted former Green Bay Packer coach Vince Lombardi: “Winning isn’t everything, but the will to win is everything.” He followed by saying that inviting people to church goes a long way toward leading them to Christ.

Also during Wednesday evening service:

The Schreiner’s sang for us, “I’ll wish I had given Him more”.

Prayer requests were made, followed by breaking up into small groups for prayer.

It was announced that Bro. Dave Karpenko will be preaching next Wednesday evening.

This fall, Wednesday evenings will feature a series of talks on cults. Various men of the church will be given cult topics to study and then present during service.
