GOSPEL LIGHT BIBLE BAPTIST CHURCH
The Bible - We believe the Holy Bible to be the inspired
word of God and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice
(II Timothy 3:16). We believe that God has preserved His word for us intact
and without error in the Authorized Version of the King James Bible first
published in 1611 (Psalm 12:6-7).
God - We believe that there is one true and living God.
He is declared in the scriptures (Genesis 1:1) and evidenced by His creation
(Psalm 19:1; Romans 1:20). This one God has three personages: the Father,
the Son and the Holy Ghost and they are co-equal in deity, performing different
yet harmonious offices (I John 5:7).
Salvation - We believe that salvation is by grace through
faith without works (Ephesians 2:8-9). It is a gift to be received not a
reward to be earned (Romans 6:23; 4:5). This salvation comes through Jesus
Christ and is dependent upon the individual's repentance toward God and
faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21). Salvation was paid for
by the shed blood of Jesus Christ and offered through the fullness of the
gospel, which is Christ's death for sinners, His burial and His resurrection
from the dead according to the scriptures (I Corinthians 15:1,3-4). Thus,
Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven (John 14:6, Acts 4:10-12). We believe
this salvation to be a place of joy with God for all of eternity (Psalm
16:11).
Eternal Security - We believe in the eternal security
of the believer. Once an individual is born again, that birth cannot be
undone. Once Jesus Christ has been received as one's personal Saviour, that
person has the promise that Jesus will never leave him nor forsake him (Hebrews

The Second Coming of Christ - We believe that the Lord
Jesus Christ is coming again in person to rapture those that have taken
Him as their personal Saviour (I Thessalonians 4:16-18). After this, the
great tribulation period will take place on earth. At the end of the tribulation
Jesus Christ will come back with His saints and set up His millennial kingdom
on this earth (Revelation 19:11-20:4). After this 1000 year reign, the Great
White Throne Judgment will commence (Revelation 20:11-15).
Hell - We believe in a literal hell of fire and torment
where the lost will spend eternity (Mark 9:43-48; Luke 16:19-31; Revelation
20:14-15).
The Local Church - We believe that believers should join
themselves to a local Bible Believing New Testament Church. Here they can
grow through the teaching and preaching of the word of God; here they can
be edified by their fellowship with other like-minded believers; here they
can serve the Lord both within the local church, without in the surrounding
community and beyond. Here they can be educated in the area of worldwide
missions; here they can interact with missionaries that come through the
church on a regular basis; and, here they can strengthen their own personal
